According to statistics released by Memorial, there are 1,143 political prisoners in Russia today – a number that grows daily. These people ended up behind bars because they could not keep silent, could not remain indifferent to what they saw going on around them. We again call on you to write to them and help them to survive isolation and protect themselves in pre-trial detention centres and penal colonies across Russia.
Join us at the Yabloko Party; together we find the right words and let people know they are not alone.
Below are the dates and locations when party members will be holding events to write letters to political prisoners:
Stavropol – 25th October
Archangel and Saratov – 26th October
Pskov – 27th October
Ulyanovsk – 28th October
Vladivostok – 29th October
Moscow, Saint Peterburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk and Tver – 30 October
Chelyabinsk – 31st October
Perm – 6th November
Kirov – 8th November
If your city does not appear on this list, you can write to a political prisoner by yourself using the instructions on our website.
