It’s impossible to ban or dissolve the Moscow Helsinki Group. The entire history of the MHG bears this out. The members of the MHG’s original group — whether in exile or even in prison — continued to remain members of the Moscow Helsinki Group.
And so do we, dear colleagues and members of the regional organisations of the Russian Helsinki Movement! None of the members of the current MHG have declared their withdrawal from the Group – neither in court nor in the press. And given the arbitrary nature of the MHG’s dissolution, which will undoubtedly be found to be illegal by the forthcoming decision of the UN Human Rights Committee (the case has already been communicated), the Moscow Helsinki Group lives on in our ideas, in our principles, and above all – in our work!
