

Mary Page talks with Aleksandr Verkhovsky, director of the Sova Centre for Information and Analysis, a Moscow-based Russian nonprofit organization. The Sova Centre was founded in October 2002 by a group of people working for the Panorama Centre for Information and Research and the Moscow Helsinki Group. The Sova Centre conducts research on such topics as nationalism and xenophobia, relations between the churches and secular society, and political radicalism. Sova Centre is interested in the problem of human rights in general and in safeguarding liberal democracy in the Russian Federation. The Sova Centre monitors and collects information daily and the results are published on its website. The Sova Centre also publishes books, presentations, research briefings and other materials directly on its website.
