The year 2024 is no exception
December 10, Moscow, Pushkin Square, 7 p.m.
Since 1965 by tradition every year a demonstration in support of political prisoners has been held in Moscow at the Pushkin memorial. To begin with, it was held on 5 December – the Day of the Soviet Constitution. Since 1977 it has been held on 10 December 10 – Human Rights Day. In the 1990s there was a happy time when there were no demonstrations: there were no political prisoners in the country. Now there are political prisoners again, and hardly a day goes by when their number does not increase. That is why showing solidarity with political prisoners is again important. The authorities are not letting our tradition die away. Our tradition lives on.
December 10, Pushkin Monument, 19 hours.
