Kirsti Stuvøy is Associate Professor at the Department of International Environment and Development Studies, Noragric, at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). She joined Noragric in 2014 and commenced as Head of Education at the same time (2014-2018). Kirsti is researching and teaching international relations. She has published on security theory, war economy, and Russian politics and civil society development. She has experience in research, teaching and leadership from various higher education institutions. From 2010-2014 she was Associate Professor at Lillehammer University College, where she taught in the bachelor program International Studies with History. She has had shorter stays at universities abroad, at the Max-Planck Institute in Halle, Germany, the State University of St. Petersburg and Moscow State University, Russia. Kirsti is a political scientist and graduated from The University of Hamburg, Germany, in 2003 (Magistra Artium) and defended her PhD at the University of Tromsø, Norway, in 2009.
