Andreas Umland is currently senior lecturer at Kyiv’s Mohyla Academy with the German Academic Exchange Service. He has formerly been Thyssen fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution in 1997-99, and Harvard’s Weatherhead Center in 2001-02; Bosch lecturer at Yekaterinburg’s Urals State University in 1999-2001, and Kyiv’s Mohyla Academy in 2003/2005; temporary lecturer at St. Antony’s College Oxford in January-December 2004; German Academic Exchange Service lecturer at Kyiv’s Shevchenko University in 2005-2008; and Research Fellow at Eichstaett’s Catholic University in 2008-2010. Andreas Umland has published widely in academic journals and in the press, and is also editor of the book series Soviet and Post-Soviet Politics and Society (http://www.ibidem-verlag.de/spps.html).
