Jens Siegert lives in Moscow and is director of the Moscow office of the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung, a foundation closely linked to the German Green Party. He set up the office in 1999. He is an expert on Russian domestic and foreign politics, with particular interests in Russia-EU and Russia-West relations, and in civil society issues in Russia. Born in Salzgitter-Bad, Lower Saxony, Germany, Jens Siegert graduated from the Phillips University in Marburg in 1988 with a Masters in Political Science. He has also worked as a freelance journalist and radio correspondent.
